Announcement from Win Frazier:
Dear Friends and Neighbors,
As a longtime resident with an extensive record of service in Bellaire, I am running for Position 1 on the Bellaire City Council in the Nov. 2, 2021 election. Early voting starts Oct. 18.
I am starting my campaign by reaching out to you- my friends, neighbors and community leaders to humbly ask for your support. My wife Johnnie and I have called Bellaire home for over 31 years. We raised our 2 children here, and have built our lives here. We’ve loved living in Bellaire for many of the same reasons you do–its small town feel and strong sense of community, its traditions such as the July 4th parade and Holiday in the Park, its schools and parks, our wonderful police and fire departments keeping us safe, and so much more. These are the things that make Bellaire so exceptional, and they are what I seek to preserve as a Bellaire City Council member.
My priorities are:
★ Your family
★ Your security
★ Our community
★ Our quality of life
I am a relationship builder. Our country is at a point where we desperately need more diplomacy and pragmatic problem-solving, and Bellaire is no exception. My principal motivations for seeking to serve on Bellaire’s City Council are to transcend petty differences and work with residents to preserve our shared investments and quality of life in this community.
I am an executive leader. As a past Vice President at the Walt Disney Corp, I have a keen eye for efficiencies and innovations that drive value to our residents. I know how to empower leaders and create a shared vision that a team strives together to achieve. As an experienced manager, I shall also make my decisions based on merit, not emotion. I shall respect the role and function of city staff, city council, and Bellaire residents.
I know Bellaire. My service to Bellaire is unrivaled and it represents the deep love and commitment I have toward our community. From serving on our children’s PTO boards, chairing the Bellaire Planning and Zoning Commission, chairing the Bellaire Police Training Commission, to serving as President of Patrons for Bellaire Parks, it has been my honor to work alongside fellow residents helping making Bellaire the wonderful place it is, and making lifelong friends along the way. These experiences have also enabled me to learn about areas of concern and desired improvements from residents, City staff, Bellaire Fire and Police, and our local business leaders. This crucial experience allows me to hit the ground running on Day 1, so that our citizens do not have to wait on decisions and projects from a council member who might have a lengthy learning curve. I am ready!
I will focus on:
> Flood mitigation
> Public safety
> Quality of city services
> Improvements to city/citizen communications
I believe in protecting the character of the City of Homes, but not at the expense of the quality of lives of those that live inside them. I will bring a focus on balancing the needs and services to residents with maintaining the small town feel that makes Bellaire such a wonderful place to live. I plan to do this by both championing and listening to the best thing our City offers- the wonderful people that live here. Improved citizen-council communications will allow for more collaboration in identifying our spending priorities and working together for out-of-the-box solutions that are financially prudent.
My record of service includes:
– Past Chairman of the City of Bellaire Police Training Advisory Board
– Past President of Patrons for Bellaire Parks
– Past Chairman of the Bellaire Planning and Zoning Commission
– Served on the City of Bellaire Sunset Review Committee
– Past Chairman of the Bellaire Historical Society
– Served as an Advisory Board Member to Nature Discovery Center
– Member of the Bellaire Citizens Academy Class #3
– Current Member of the Bellaire Flood Mitigation Task Force
– Member, Bellaire/Southwest Houston Rotary Club
– Member, Bellaire Business Association
– Board Member, Constable Alan Rosen Precinct One Foundation
– Past Member of the HISD SW Leadership Committee
– Past PTO President for 3 area schools
Our city is at a critical juncture, where the outcome of the upcoming election will affect the direction of Bellaire for years to come. I have the professional and volunteer experience to lead Bellaire in the right direction, and I’m asking for your support and help to make our campaign vision Bellaire’s reality. If you do nothing else, please VOTE in support of Win Frazier for Bellaire City Council during early voting in October, or on the November 2nd Election Day.
We would also appreciate your show of support by placing a free yard sign in front of your home. To get one or to show your campaign support in other ways, please visit my website at: https://www.frazierforbellaire.com If you would like me to reach out to answer any questions or concerns about issues in our City, I would enjoy discussing over a cup of coffee, a Zoom, or a phone call.
With sincere thanks, Win Frazier
