From the City of Bellaire:
Bellaire Public Works has been working to complete the regular weekly trash pick-up routes. Unfortunately, with the amount of trash and debris from the storm, we have not been able to keep up with those schedules. We understand how frustrating it has been with our notices that trash will be picked up, and then it’s not.
Our crews worked today to catch up but still could not finish sections C, D & E. We will pick up those sections on Monday.
We will move to a modified trash collection schedule next week until we get back on track. We will pick up one day a week, and there will be no bag limit. Recycling will be temporarily suspended.
Collection schedule July 15 – 19:
- Monday, July 15 – The remainder of Section E and all of Sections C and D
- Tuesday, July 16 – Section A
- Wednesday, July 17 – Section B
- Thursday, July 18 – Section C
- Friday, July 19 – Sections D and E
Debris cleanup will begin on Monday.
Please be sure to separate your trash from the storm debris. Vegetation will be collected on the first pass, and construction debris will be collected on the second pass, to be scheduled later.
We appreciate your patience and understanding during this challenging time.
What residents need to know about storm debris removal:
The first storm debris collection will begin Monday, July 15. Please have your debris on the curb by Monday morning. Vegetation will be picked up in the first pass, and construction debris will be picked up in the second round, which will be scheduled at a later date.
Storm-related debris includes vegetation (large tree limbs, tree trunks, leaves, etc.) and construction debris (fence panels, lumber, building material, etc.). Please clearly separate your debris by type and from the trash and recycling.
Tips for placing your storm debris curbside for pick up:
- Separate vegetation (tree limbs, trunks, etc.) from construction debris (fence panels, lumber, shingles, building materials)
- Separate all storm debris from trash and recycling
- Please do not place debris under a low-hanging tree canopy or utility line
- Do not bag debris
- Please do not block sidewalks, water meters, or fire hydrants
- Do not place items in the street
