From the City of Bellaire:
Beginning Tuesday, February 5, 2019, a construction fence will be installed around the old City Hall building in preparation for demolition of the building. There will be limited parking on South Rice Avenue from Jessamine Street to the new City Hall building. Two spaces will be dedicated to the public for access to the existing Utility Drop Box until Sunday, February 10, 2019.
The new Utility Drop Box will be available the afternoon of Tuesday, February 12, 2019, and located along South Rice Avenue next to the US Postal Service Mail Box near the new City Hall building. There will be no pedestrian access along South Rice Avenue from Jessamine Street to the new City Hall building. Signs will be installed directing the public to the alternative parking areas.
During the construction of the second phase of the new City Hall building, alternative parking will be available at the following locations:
– Along Jessamine Street
– In the parking lot between the Fire Station and Bellaire City Library
– Along Fifth Street
– In the Bellaire Recreation Center Parking lot
The safest route to City Hall from any of these areas will be through the parks located between the Bellaire Recreation Center and City Hall, Bellaire- Zindler Park or Loftin Park.
