From the City of Bellaire:

Public Hearing Previously Noticed for July 6, 2020 – Postponed

On June 26, 2020, Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo raised the current threat of risk for Harris County from Level 2 (significant) to Level 1 (severe) as COVID-19 outbreaks are present and worsening in Harris County. Residents are urged to stay home, to minimize contacts with others wherever possible, and avoid leaving home except for the most essential needs.

The City Council of the City of Bellaire, in response to the increased COVID-19 risk level, will conduct their July 6th Regular Session by telephone beginning at 7:00 p.m. The public hearing scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on July 6, 2020, related to a request from the Houston Independent School District (HISD) for an amendment to Specific Use Permit S-89 to allow for the addition of a softball field at 6300 Avenue B, Bellaire, Texas, has been postponed until at least August of 2020 in the hope that an in-person public hearing can be conducted.

For those residents who have submitted written comments to the City Council related to the HISD public hearing, those comments will be provided to the City Council and will be included in the applicable August (or later) agenda packet. Written comments can be submitted to the City Council in care of the City Clerk by email at tdutton@bellairetx.gov or by mail (Tracy L. Dutton, City Clerk, City of Bellaire, 7008 South Rice Avenue, Bellaire, Texas 77401-4411).
