An update from the Bellaire Police Department:
Bellaire Police located the owner of a dog that bit an 11 year old boy on May 8 near 4337 Lafayette.
The owner of the animal stated she had not realized the dog had actually injured the child when she left the scene. The owner of the animal was able to provide appropriate veterinary records showing proof of Rabies vaccination. The animal was quarantined overnight at the owner’s residence and will be taken to a veterinary’s office for an additional quarantine period.
The District Ayyorney’s office has declined criminal charges on the dog’s owner at this time.
