From the City of Bellaire:
Trash, recycling, and limbs/brush collection services are running regularly. We will collect as much vegetation as possible with our equipment. We have a 3rd party debris removal contract for storm recovery, and they will begin early next week.
What residents need to know about storm debris removal:
The first storm debris collection will take place early next week. Please have your debris on the curb by Monday morning. Vegetation will be picked up in the first pass, and construction debris will be picked up in the second round, which will be scheduled at a later date.
Storm-related debris includes vegetation (large tree limbs, tree trunks, leaves, etc.) and construction debris (fence panels, lumber, building material, etc.). Please clearly separate your debris by type and from the trash and recycling.
Tips for placing your storm debris curbside for pick up:
- Separate vegetation (tree limbs, trunks, etc.) from construction debris (fence panels, lumber, shingles, building materials)
- Separate all storm debris from trash and recycling
- Please do not place debris under a low-hanging tree canopy or utility line
- Do not bag debris
- Please do not block sidewalks, water meters, or fire hydrants
- Do not place items in the street
Permits are not required to replace fencing. Any permit fees related to storm damage repairs will be waived. Contractors will still be required to obtain a permit when necessary.
