The Nature Discovery Center (NDC) is holding a family-friendly Popsicles in the Park kick-off event on Thursday, September 5th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm to raise awareness about the upcoming Enchanted Woods Nature Play Area. This exciting $2 million project aims to renovate the southeast corner of Russ Pitman Park into an innovative green space where children can explore and connect with nature through play.
Families will enjoy a casual evening under the trees with games and activities, popsicles and refreshments, and a live animal encounter with one of the NDC’s Ambassador Animals. Guests will have the opportunity to play outdoors and learn more about plans for the Enchanted Woods, a wild space to ignite children’s curiosity and connection to nature through elements that are scarce in the middle of the city. Designed to integrate with the park environment, the Enchanted Woods Nature Play Area will feature elements such as interactive gardens, climbable rocks, and an outdoor classroom to host additional NDC nature education programs for all ages.
Board members, campaign supporters and staff will be present to share additional information about the vision for the Enchanted Woods Nature Play Area and to answer any questions. The NDC is located at 7112 Newcastle St, Bellaire 77401 and Popsicles in the Park will be held in the southern end of the park near the Evergreen street entrance.
