If you live in the southern part of Bellaire or in Meyerland you may have heard some helicopters and gunfire but it’s all part of a training exercise for HPD, which the Chronicle reported earlier this month.
The City of Bellaire put out this notice today:
In conjunction with the Department of Defense, the City of Houston Police Department (HPD) is performing training exercises across the greater Houston area. You may have heard helicopters and gunfire near Beechnut last night. This was part of the training exercise. Unfortunately, we were not aware of the exercises’ locations, including last night’s location near Bellaire. These exercises will continue throughout Houston in various places until February 12. We will let you know if we are made aware of additional training exercises near the Bellaire area.
