Houston Show Choir has added a new performance group to its family of adult show choirs, specifically to meet the need for daytime entertainment at senior and therapeutic facilities. Artistic Director Jen Young says, “We have three other choirs, but most of our current performers have other obligations that restrict their availability during the work week. We found ourselves unable to meet the demand for daytime performances and so the new choir was formed to better serve our community. That’s important to us.”
The Houston Show Choir vision is to share the joy of music with the Greater Houston area and beyond. The group is filled with talented volunteers who sing and dance their way through a popular repertoire of rock, pop, jazz, country, show tunes, and more. Houston Show Choir produces its own shows, and also appears at a variety of public and private events.
For those interested in learning more about Houston Show Choir, there is a free Singalong & Social on July 30, and auditions for the fall season start on August 5. More information is at HoustonShowChoir.org.
