Evergreen Park has a new infusion of energy with the recent formation of ‘We Are Evergreen’ Committee. The committee has launched a public survey to solicit and explore what Bellaire citizens are looking for at the Evergreen Park complex.
The survey is designed to gather information from park users and residents with a vested interest in the park’s redevelopment. City Council Member, Cindy Taylor, has spearheaded the committee’s development and explains “the survey is an opportunity for citizens to voice their opinions on the redevelopment project.” It is the declared goal of the committee to engage as many citizens and park goers as possible to record their perspectives on what amenities and features that they feel make a park, a great place to be. “We want our residents to be a part of the decision-making process, their voices truly matter,” remarks Taylor.
The Ad Hoc Evergreen Park Committee, ‘We Are Evergreen,’ was authorized by City of Bellaire City Council on September 16, 2024. It convenes a group of enthusiastic residents to help develop and procure funding for the redevelopment of Bellaire’s Evergreen Pool and Park Complex. They will act as a charitable organization with fundraising activities for the revitalization of Evergreen Park through private donations and grants. A $600,000 grant submitted by Congresswoman Lizzy Fletcher has already been secured for the playground at Evergreen.
‘We Are Evergreen’ is committed to heightening the quality of life, safety, and well-being in Bellaire through the development of Evergreen Park. The ‘We Are Evergreen’ committee believes that Evergreen Park can be a vibrant center of community activity through the renovation of the Evergreen Pool and Playground Complex. Our goal is to meet the high standards that the Bellaire community expects and deserves.
