Please join the BBA in welcoming Harris County Judge Ed Emmett, who will speak about the Flood Control Bond Issue. Judge Ed Emmett has been a strong leader in the face of difficult challenges. As county judge, he has organized the county’s response to two historic disasters – Hurricane Ike and Hurricane Harvey. As Ike made landfall, Emmett famously told county residents to “hunker down.” As rain waters began to swell from Harvey, Emmett called on boat owners around the region to come to the rescue. Judge Emmett will speak about the $2.5 billion bond proposal that would fund flood protection projects in the Houston area. The proposal will go to Harris County voters on Aug. 25, the one-year anniversary of when Hurricane Harvey made landfall in Texas.
The ticket price for this event includes admission for one as well as an array of breakfast items served buffet-style. Tickets will also be available at the door for $18 a person. Cash or check is preferred at the door.
