From the City of Bellaire:
12/17/2024 Public Works has removed the “No Right Turn on Red” signs from the intersection of Bellaire Blvd. and Newcastle. Last night, the Bellaire City Council instructed staff to hire a traffic engineer to conduct a study at the intersection and remove the signs until the study results are presented in early Spring 2025.

12/9/2024 As a result of the discussion at the City Council meeting on Dec. 2, the “No Right Turn on Red” signs have been temporarily removed from six recently installed intersections on Bissonnet, Ave. B and Jessamine. The signs currently remain at the intersection of Newcastle and Bellaire.
We have contacted the City’s Traffic Engineer for a quote on a traffic study at the intersection of Newcastle and Bellaire. Given the residents’ concerns, staff will take this item back to the City Council for further discussion and action on Dec. 16.
