A young, beautiful male German Shepherd puppy was picked up by a kind passerby running down South Rice at Elm Street in Bellaire this morning, 9/11, at 9:30am. The Good Samaritan waited an hour looking for an owner, then took the puppy to a vet for evaluation. The puppy has a severely swollen snout from having it tied or taped shut for a prolonged period, but is luckily still able to eat and drink. He is only around 4 months old, is not wearing a collar/tags and is not chipped. A huge THANKS to Chestnut Animal Hospital for providing this sweet puppy with a free evaluation, pain medications, antibiotics and flea/HW medications! He is expected to make a full recovery. Another huge THANKS to the Good Samaritan for taking his entire morning today to rescue this dog. The puppy will be on a 72-hour stray hold, then will be available for adoption. Please comment/message here or contact Officer Perez of the Bellaire Police Department at 713-668-0487 with any information or interest in helping/adopting this sweet boy!
