Update and Fundraiser for Emma 12/29/19: Mama ‘Emma’ never found her owner. Perhaps thankfully, as she was clearly failed by her humans. The vet reports that she was underfed and not cared for. Her large collar and ring suggest she was tied to a chain most of the time. Her puppies were not found, apparently taken from her too soon as she was dumped on the street and still lactating. In addition, the vet discovered that she is HW positive. While fully curable, many know the cost is very expensive. This will severely deter rescue groups we reach out to or potential adopters. Please help by donating to her HW treatment, so that she can be on a path to a better life. She is sweet as can be, and even is starting to play as she gains her strength (perhaps thanks to a few hamburgers!). She is 2 years old, 48 pounds, now vaccinated, dewormed, and started on flea/tick prevention medications. A volunteer found her shivering in her pin in the windy rainy weather this morning, she really needs to get out of there!
