On 03/07/2019 at around 0210 hours, HPD was involved in a pursuit with robbery suspects that passed through the City of Bellaire. One suspect jumped out of the vehicle being chased in the 5200 block of Evergreen.

Bellaire Police, with the assistance of HPD helicopter and HPD K9, were able to locate the suspect in the 4900 block of Welford at 0242 hours. The suspect was then released to HPD.

We are asking if you live in the 4800 – 5200 blocks of Evergreen, 100 block of Whipple, 4900 block of Bellview or 4900 block of Welford, to check your front and back yard for a handgun. Officers conducted a search during the nighttime and morning hours, and were unable to locate a weapon. It is unknown if the weapon was thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit, or if the suspect was able to hide it while evading on foot.

If you locate a weapon, do not touch it and call Bellaire Police at 713.668.0487 immediately.
