Details:
On 07/30/2020 at 5:20 am, a resident observed a person that appeared to be breaking into vehicles on College Street. Officers arrived around 5:23 am and observed the male who then started running away. Officers located him hiding in a backyard at which point a brief struggle occurred before the suspect was placed in custody. Officers located stolen property on the suspect, who had also thrown a handgun as he was climbing a fence. Responding officers were able to locate and recover the handgun.
As officers were checking for other cars that had been burglarized, they located a stolen vehicle parked on Bellview Drive. Another struggle occurred as officers attempted to place the occupant in custody and he attempted to evade. This suspect was placed in custody and linked to the first subject who was arrested on College Street.
At this time, it is believed all the stolen property has been identified, and the weapon thrown by suspect #1 has been recovered.
