From the Bellaire Police Officers Association:
Harassment Suspect Taken Into Custody After Ongoing Investigation
Over the past week, the Bellaire Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID), Patrol Division, Traffic Division, and UAS/Drone Unit have been actively investigating and monitoring a habitual offender identified as Jaren Brady.
Mr. Brady was initially arrested by the Bellaire Police Department in November 2024 after being reported for following female joggers in and around the Bellaire area. Despite facing two previous harassment charges, he continued his pattern of behavior.
In March 2025, Bellaire Police Communications received another report of Mr. Brady following a female jogger. Officers quickly responded and took him into custody once again.
On March 28, 2025, CID launched a proactive investigation, with continued efforts on March 31 and April 1, in partnership with Patrol, Traffic, and the UAS/Drone Unit. Thanks to collaborative teamwork and persistence, investigators gathered sufficient evidence to present a new case to the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, which accepted a new charge of harassment against Mr. Brady.
At the time of this third offense, Mr. Brady was already out on bond for two previous harassment charges. His first bond was set at $1,000, and his second bond—for the same offense out of the same court—was inexplicably set at $100. No violation of his existing bond conditions had previously been accepted by the court.
However, this time proved different. A warrant was issued for Mr. Brady, and he was subsequently taken into custody.
Chief Lopez personally observed Mr. Brady exhibiting suspicious behavior and initiated rolling surveillance until B-Shift officers were able to safely perform a traffic stop and make the arrest.
We extend our sincere gratitude to:
• Criminal Investigation Division
• Patrol Division
• Traffic Division
• UAS/Drone Unit
• West University Place Police Department
• Harris County District Attorney's Office
Their collaborative efforts were critical in ensuring this habitual offender was removed from our community.
