Details: 

  On 01/22/2020 at 7:43 pm, Officers were dispatched to an in-progress aggravated robbery in the parking lot of 5020 Bellaire.  A suspect attempted to steal a vehicle at gunpoint but was unable to operate the vehicle.  The suspect ran to a waiting car in the Randall’s parking lot.  At this point the suspect fired a handgun in the direction of a witness, who had followed him to the parking lot.  The suspect then fled the area in the suspect vehicle.     

At 7:46 pm, the same suspect attempted to steal a vehicle at gunpoint in the parking lot of 7008 Fifth.  The suspect was again unable to operate the vehicle.  The suspect fled north on Fifth Street in the direction that the suspect vehicle was last seen.   

Officers checked the area with the help of HPD K9 and were unable to locate the suspect.  It is believed the suspect vehicle was waiting for the suspect.   

The suspect vehicle is described as a silver Mercedes coupe with an unknown driver.  The suspect with the handgun is described as a black male, approximately 5’11”, wearing a white hoodie, black sweatpants, and Adidas style slides.
