WUPD Investigates an Aggravated Robbery

Today at 2:35pm, a vehicle parked in the 2800 block of Plumb with its door open and no visible registration caught the attention of an officer who deemed it suspicious. Approaching the vehicle to investigate, the officer noticed a passenger inside. While speaking to the passenger, a suspect suddenly appeared, ran from a nearby resident's house, and drove off in the suspicious vehicle. Despite attempts to pursue, the officers lost sight of the suspect's vehicle. An investigation later revealed that the suspect had followed the victim home from a bank, attempted to steal their purse upon entry to the house, and had an altercation with the victim that resulted in injuries. The suspect fled the scene without any stolen property but was able to escape in the suspicious vehicle. Detectives are currently investigating the incident and pursuing leads to identify and capture the suspects involved.
