On 11/14/2018, ABC 13 Houston posted a story about an incident that allegedly occurred at the West U Branch Library. The story featured an extremely short clip of the recorded audio from the officer and was not wholly accurate.

The incident from 11/13/2018 at approximately 10:30 AM, did not occur at the West U Branch Library. Officers responded to a city facility at 6108 Edloe, the West U Scout House for a verbal disturbance involving someone refusing to leave the premises after being asked. Any disturbance, especially where children are in proximity during school hours on a school campus, the response of 5 officers (1 supervisor, 3 officers and 1 trainee) was appropriate for the situation.
