No changes in service level is expected in Bellaire due to the Houston watermain break. You do NOT need to boil water in Bellaire or West U.
From the City of Bellaire:
We do not expect any service interruptions or changes in service level here in Bellaire. City of Bellaire groundwater sources, plus our storage capacity, provides sufficient water supply for our needs for an extended period of time.
Bellaire water customers do NOT need to boil water. Bellaire’s water supply system is independent of the affected portion of the City of Houston water system. Bellaire’s water is safe.
From the City if West University:
West U’s Water Distribution system remains fully operational with no issues. Our pressure remains at normal operating range and all residuals are at or above regulatory limits. As a additional precaution, we have isolated our water system and have shut down all surface water coming in from Houston for the next 24 hours and are producing water from our water wells. This will have little to no effect on water quality and taste.
It is NOT necessary to boil water in the City of West University Place.
The City of Houston recommends residents boil water through Friday..
