A Message from Principal McDonough:
Good morning.
I wanted to inform you of a situation that was successfully handled this morning. At approximately 10:15 am, an adult male carrying a backpack was seen on campus. Students reported their concern to teachers and administrators and a decision was made to go in to a lockdown.
Within minutes the individual was apprehended by HISD Police and no weapons were found. Once we were certain that all students, faculty and staff were safe, we lifted the lockdown.
As always, safety is at the forefront of what we do each day. As a result of this incident, we are reviewing how he gained access to the building and we will revisit our current practices and procedures. If you have any further questions or concerns then please do not hesitate to contact me directly.
Thanks,
Michael McDonough
