From the Bellaire Police Department…Daniel Armando Mena, 21 years of age, of the 8100 block of Northline in Houston was charged with Intoxicated Manslaughter with a Motor Vehicle by Belliare Police early this morning. Mena was driving northbound in the southbound lanes of IH 610 near Beechnut when he struck another vehicle head on, killing the female.
At appoximately 2:19 AM Saturday morning, August 12, Bellaire Police Officers monitored a radio broadcast from the Houston Police Department advising that a vehicle was being driven the wrong way on IH 610. The vehicle was reported as driving northbound in the southbound lanes approaching Braeswood. Bellaire Officers responded and upon arrival located a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Mena which had just driven head on into a GMC Acadia driven by a female victim. The female was the lone occupant of her vehicle and appears to have died upon impact. Officers immediateely took custody of Mena.
At the time of this press release Mena is in the Bellaire Police Department’s jail awaiting transfer to the Harris County Sheriff Department’s jail.
