A special dedication will be held in memoriam for Diane McLaughlan on March 11, 2023 at 3pm at the Bellaire Library Green Space on 5111 Jessamine, Bellaire, TX 77401. PATRONS for Bellaire Park has planted tree and placed a memorial plaque at the Library Greens Space to honor their long-standing Board member and an esteemed civic figure in Bellaire.
Diane McLaughlan devoted 35 years to a career in educations, most of which were spent at Condit Elementary School in Bellaire, TX, where she established an extensive and successful gifted and talented program. Diane’s accomplishments and devotion to her students was recognized multiple times. Once as the Texas A&M College of Education Outstanding Teacher and several times as recipient of teacher of the year.
Diane was an active member and leader within her community and church. She devoted many hours to supporting the community through activities like Friends’ of Bellaire Library, Historical Society, and Jogging Club. She served on the Educational Committee as well as the Board of Directors at Bellaire United Methodist Church. Upon retiring, Diane continued to serve her community through volunteerism and foster learning through tutoring students.
All are invited to attend the dedications on March 11th to celebrate a special community member that gave so much to Bellaire.
