From the City of Bellaire:

The City of Bellaire has received confirmation that a Bellaire parks and recreation department employee has tested positive for COVID-19. This employee worked with the summer camp program and was tested on Friday, July 3, as a result of exposure to a family member. The employee has not displayed any symptoms and was not at work this week.  That counselor worked only with one age group of campers.  The camp staff has kept different age groups apart during camp activities.

All participants have been notified, and camp services are suspended until at least the beginning of next week. Notice to participants will be provided to allow for a return to the camp once it is determined to be safe. Steps are being taken to sanitize the recreation center. Safety protocols have been implemented that include COVID-19 testing for all exposed city employees and isolation as needed. Harris County Public Health is handling all contact tracing notifications.  Due to health privacy laws, no names or additional details will be released.

The City of Bellaire is dedicated to providing a safe workplace and protecting the community. We encourage you to practice social distancing, continue washing your hands, and wear a mask when in public.  Stay Safe.
