City Council Meeting Overview
May 5-11, 2019 – Public Service Recognition Week in the City of Bellaire in honor of Bellaire’s city employees for their commitment and dedication in service to our community.
May 12-18, 2019 – Police Week in the City of Bellaire, in recognition and appreciation of the services provided by law enforcement officers.
May 2019 – Older Americans Month in the City of Bellaire, in recognition of the contributions that older adults and the people who serve them provide to the community.
REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS
The FY2019 Second Quarter Report (January – March 2019) was presented by Chief Financial Officer Terrence Beaman.
REGULAR SESSION ACTION ITEMS
Approved a ninety-day suspension of the effective date of the new CenterPoint Energy electric rates.
Adopted a resolution to join with the City of Houston in a coalition of cities in the conduct of proceedings about the CenterPoint Energy Statement of Intent and Application for Authority to Change Rates Pending as PUC Docket No. 49421 and to authorize the Coalition of Cities to represent Bellaire in said proceedings.
Amended the FY 2019 budget to reflect additional appropriations of $27,030 to the Special Revenue Fund and $300,000 to the Capital Bond Fund.
Approved change proposals to the Guaranteed Maximum Price Contract with Horizon|Christensen of up to $30,000 for construction and construction management services associated with the Municipal Facilities Project.
