PROCLAMATIONS AND PRESENTATIONS

The Federal Bureau of Investigation presented special commendation certificates to nine Bellaire Police officers for meritorious actions related to an event that occurred on March 3, 2017, at the Amegy Bank located at 5301 Bissonnet in Bellaire.

REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

The Evelyn’s Park Conservancy presented their quarterly report. Highlights included an overview of 2018 revenues and expenditures, events, and community involvement.

The Evelyn’s Park Conservancy presented the plan for the development of Phase 2 of the Evelyn’s Park Master Plan. The approval of the new agreement for the Phase 2 plan is scheduled to be considered March 4, 2019.

REGULAR SESSION ACTION ITEMS

Adopted an ordinance allowing Progressive Commercial Aquatics to re-plaster the competition pool, repaint the waterplay features, and perform miscellaneous maintenance projects at Bellaire Town Square Family Aquatic Center.

Directed staff to return with suggested changes to the proposed Chapter 9 amendments related to residential flood protection and permitting.

Adopted an ordinance amending Chapter 9 of the building code to include adjustments that strengthen the existing international building code guidelines.

The presentation of proposed amendments to the school zone speed limits was postponed for additional research.
