Below is an overview from the December 17, 2018, Bellaire City Council meeting. These are not the official minutes of the meeting.

PROCLAMATIONS

December 17 as Officer Max Boatwright Day in the City of Bellaire. Seven year-old Officer Boatwright was recently made an honorary member of the Bellaire Police Department.

REPORTS AND PRESENTATIONS

The development of a Bellaire Master Drainage Concept Plan was presented, highlighting regional efforts with Harris County Flood Control (HCFC) and the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) to study the impacts of flooding in and around Bellaire. The concept plan will be a precursor to the design of significant flood control improvements, potentially funded in partnership with other entities such as HCFC and TxDOT.

REGULAR SESSION ACTION ITEMS

Approved the appointment of Alan P. Petrov as City Attorney and executed the contract with Johnson Petrov LLP.

Adopted a resolution stating the City of Bellaire will assist persons with the filing of Fair Housing complaints. The resolution is a requirement of Housing and Urban Development to retain eligibility for grant funding.

Adopted current and anticipated change proposals for the construction of the Municipal Facilities Project in an amount not to exceed $302,516.00.

Approved a final payment to Main Lane Industries, Ltd. for the 2017 Street and Sidewalk Pavement Project.

Approved an agreement with AARK Engineers, LLC for design engineering and construction administration services for the Bonds for a Better Bellaire 2016 Group A Phase 3 Waterline Replacement Project.

Approved an agreement with KIK Professionals, Inc. for a third-party review of design plans, construction management, and inspection services for the Bonds for a Better Bellaire 2016 Group A Phase 3 Waterline Replacement Project.

Approved the additional regulation of small cell network facilities within public rights-of-way.
