The second of at least three passes to collect storm debris by the City’s debris collection contractor is nearing completion. To provide residents additional time to move their storm debris to the curb line of the street, the third pass will not begin until Monday, October 23. It is our objective to have all of the storm debris picked up prior to October 31.
Please remember to keep storm debris as far away from trees, water meter boxes, irrigation lines, etc. to minimize damage. Please also continue to separate storm debris from your normal solid waste. The City’s storm debris contractor is only authorized to pick up materials that resulted from storm damage. Please instruct residential repair contractors to haul off any waste material created when restoring your home.
If your property sustained damage during the debris removal process: irrigation systems, water meter boxes, sanitary sewer cleanouts, large ruts, we’d like to know about it. Please email pictures and a description of the damage to PW@bellairetx.gov. The City has been and will continue to compile the information and provide it to the contractor for their processing. Unfortunately, the City is unable to sod or re-seed lawns. This will be the responsibility of the home owner.
The City is working to finalize a schedule for Household hazardous waste (HHW) pick up. It is our objective that HHW items will also be picked up prior to the 31st. Look for additional updates on this as well as other Harvey related matters on the City’s website, www.bellairetx.gov.
