Details

The Nature Discovery Center will again participate in the Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC), and annual event in which tens of thousands of volunteers of all levels of birding experience count birds in their own backyards, local parks or wildlife refuges during a specific window of time. GBBC Checklists submitted by “citizen scientists” help scientists and researchers learn more about how different bird species are doing, how their populations and ranges are changing, and how to protect them.

Join Retired NDC Head Naturalist Mary Ann Beauchemin and other volunteers on Sunday, February 18, from 9:00 to 10:30 am for the 2024 count here at the Nature Discovery Center. Families are welcome. Registration is not required. We will meet at the front porch. If you are a little late, just find us in the park.

Bring a pair of binoculars, but if you don’t have any, the Center has some you may borrow.
