Please join the City of Bellaire and the Flood Hazard Mitigation Task Force at the Regional Drainage Improvement Program Open House.
The City of Bellaire, in conjunction with Ardurra, the consultant engineering team, is developing a long-term Regional Drainage Improvement Program to construct a series of drainage improvements and mitigate the risk of flooding throughout the City of Bellaire.
The City plans to implement a capital improvement program to advance significant flood risk reduction activities and projects across its jurisdiction. Using the Master Drainage Concept Planas a reference, additional data collection, review, and analyses have been conducted in order to advance a comprehensive Regional Drainage Improvement Program. The first phase of the work effort is near completion. Based on the data findings, model runs, and public input, preliminary recommendations have been developed, and we are ready to share the results of this first phase of work with the community.
An Open House is scheduled for the community to review the study findings and preliminary recommendations. This will also be an opportunity for area residents to view the initial proposed drainage improvements, ask questions, and provide additional input into the process and development of workable solutions.
