Crews are still working on the gas line break at Chimney Rock and Bissonnet. All lanes except the northbound lane of Chimney Rock are open. Please expect traffic delays in this area until CenterPoint has repaired the break.
From the City of Bellaire:
8/3/23. There is a gas line break at Chimney Rock and Bissonnet. Chimney Rock is closed from Bissonnet to Bellaire. The westbound lanes of Bissonnet are closed from Mapleridge to Chimney Rock. Please expect traffic delays and avoid the area if possible. CenterPoint and emergency crews are on the scene. There is no immediate threat to the public or evacuation at this time. A contractor struck the line. We will keep you posted with updates.
