The City of Bellaire has initiated the Regional Drainage Improvement Program to develop and implement drainage improvements and mitigate the risk of flooding throughout the city of Bellaire. This project will benefit the city by reducing the threats to property and the risk to the health and life of Bellaire citizens caused by area flooding.

The City of Bellaire plans to implement a capital project program to advance significant flood risk reduction activities across its jurisdiction. These activities shall be informed by the recently completed Master Drainage Concept Plan (MDCP), public input, and pursuant to strategic direction from the City Council.

The Bellaire Regional Drainage Improvement Program is in the early stages of data collection and analysis. A vital element of this program is the partnership with the Bellaire residents and community. An open house is scheduled for July 18, for the community to learn about the program, ask questions, and offer input regarding significant concerns and priorities.
