On Saturday June 10, 2017 the Bellaire Police Station will open its doors to the public one last time between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM for a final Open House.  The first week of July Police operations will move to temporary quarters and the current police station, located at 5110 Jessamine, will be torn down.  This is to make way for construction of the new Belliare Police and Municipal Court building scheduled to start later in the summer.

The current Bellaire Police Station was opened on April 24, 1974 and then Mayor Grant Webster said that the building was equipped with “the newest services in communication and technical advances in police work.”  The current building was designed in 1972 and for the time was a cutting edge factility.

The Open House will give citizens a chance to walk through the building and discuss the move, as well as the new facility, with police staff.  Unlike past open houses there will be no demonstrations or displays, but instead it is intended to have photos and diagrams of how the building has changed over the years.
