NEW LOCATION: Bellaire Public Works

WHAT:
The City of Bellaire Environmental Sustainability Board is hosting a Drive Through Recycling Event on Saturday, October 23, at the Bellaire Public Works parking lot.  We will be accepting scrap metal, small household appliances, computer equipment, radios, and stereos.  There will also be a confidential paper shredding service available with a limit of 5 boxes.

The event begins at 9:00 am and is scheduled to end at 1:00 pm, but it will end earlier if the trucks reach full capacity.  Participants must always stay in their vehicles; no walk-ups will be allowed.

9:00 am until 1:00 pm or earlier if the collections trucks are filled

COVID-19 Guidelines

  • Participants must stay in vehicles at all times
  • Walk-ups will not be allowed
  • Traffic flow will be strictly enforced
  • Participants will not be allowed to park or pull to the side and stop
  • Everyone in the vehicle is encouraged to wear masks while windows/doors are open at drop off
  • All items will be collected by staff or vendors
  • All items must be placed in the trunk of the car or back of the truck
  • For SUV’s, items must be placed in the rear cargo area, everyone in the SUV is encouraged to wear masks while items are collected from the back of the SUV
  • Items will not be collected from the back seat or front seat of any vehicle
  • Items shall be organized, separated, and clearly labeled as to what type of item is being recycled
  • Participants may not hand items to staff for recycling through the window or otherwise
  • Staff/vendors will be encouraged to wear masks at all times
  • Masks, disposable gloves, sanitizing wipes, and hand sanitizer will be available
