National Voter Registration Day is a nonpartisan civic event celebrating our democracy. First observed in 2012, it has quickly gained momentum ever since.
Celebrated on the fourth Tuesday of September, National Voter Registration Day will next take place on September 28, 2021, when volunteers and organizations from all over the country will “hit the streets” in a single day of coordinated field technology and media efforts. National Voter Registration Day seeks to create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities to reach voters who may not register otherwise.
Every year, millions of Americans find themselves unable to vote because they miss a registration deadline, don’t update their registration, or aren’t sure how to register. National Voter Registration Day wants to make sure everyone who is eligible has the opportunity to vote.
Join us at the Bellaire City Library from 10:00 am – 7:00 pm to register as a new voter, update your voter registration to your current name and address, or get answers to any of your voting-related questions!
To be eligible to vote in the local election on November 2, you must be registered to vote by October 4. For more information on this event, please call 713.662.8160.
