From the City of Bellaire:
The boil water notice remains in effect. We will inform you when the boil water notice is lifted. This may not occur until the weekend. We have made tremendous improvements with the City’s water supply recovery efforts, but we’re not there yet. We must follow a protocol that includes flushing water lines. Please do not be alarmed if you see large amounts of water draining from the fire hydrants in your neighborhood over the next couple of days.
Our focus remains on winter storm recovery. City facilities continue to be closed to the public Friday and Saturday, and there will be no trash or recycling collection services on Friday. Please hold your trash and recyclables until your regularly scheduled day next week.
You may see Public Works crews out and about tomorrow assessing residential leaks and assisting with containment. As power is restored to your homes, you may experience burst pipes and leaks. If this happens, we recommend that you shut off the water to your homes. Please contact Bellaire Public Works at 713-662-8170 or the EOC non-emergency line, (713) 668-0487, if you need assistance shutting off your water.
